The only problem I really have is that with the new skill display on an enemy, it goes outside of the box. It messed up my interface, so when an enemy uses a second skill it appears over my skillbar. Kinda frustrating.
|
Stupid question, have you tried adjusting the interface by moving the enemy skill up.
I have yet to see the new update (it was late, i was tired), so im not 100% sure if ive got the right end of the stick.
As to the update, well i have recently created a new monk charachter just for farming (although i found i like monking so have decided to be a proper monk mostly).
I really cant see the updates bothering me whatsoever, i personally want to be able to create my own farming build. Or at least my own version of the 105 build, so i just dont care really.
At the end of the day the monk farming builds WERE overpowered, too many people were using them making the game stale. Changes like this are needed, as im 100% sure that all some people will do is adjust or find better builds.
Farming will live on, never worry.

I'd have to agree with the post regarding game stability.
This game NEEDS farmers. Period. If you don't believe me
go into either Lions Arch 1, Droknar's 1, or Deldrimoor War
Camp 1. People charge INSANE amounts for items.
|
Thats because people PAY insane amounts, which funnily enough they can afford because they farm.
Personally i would never pay 100k or whatever for an axe or rune, regardless of my funds, thats INSANE.

Y'know, what with the game being out for a good while I would have thought the 'skill balancing' would have been sorted out by now....

RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you.
It's because of people like you that tombs is RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up now. You were probably one of those dicks who think Elite skills should only be possessed by 1% of the guild wars population.
RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you and leave GW please. Some of us actually WANT to play the game instead of grinding or getting screwed over by no-talent cookie cutter builds.
Best patch ever.

I wonder why the typical Palafarm Build is still unnerfed while the monk farmbuilds get cut down with each update coming. Next Update i'm sure we will get a nerf of healing breeze and you can no longer cast protective nerf... uh.. spirit on yourself.
While i don't understand these shizophrenic decisions about nerfing farming (some classes can still just farm like they allways did... without the need to adjust even once... while other classes get the hammer every time) there is only one way to keep on getting money. Suck it up and go, make a farming Paladin.

I can't believe people are actually crying over nerfed farming builds. Ffs.
Just for the record, I'm not crying over the loss of energy denial for mesmers, I just can't understand the reasoning behind it. However, I see now people mention that apparently some high-ranking guilds had been abusing it, and I guess that's why it got nerfed.

One thing i learned that if you plan on doing something good, you better make sure your skill bar is filled with it.
Distractions? Almost every skill should interrupts.
Damage warrior? Attack skills.
So why should a mesmer be able to shutdown an entire build using one or two skills, and can do a lot more with a second set of skills?
You can still do energy denial, just no longer with two skills. Energy burn, power leak, and a few others can be used to remove energy from the target.

My favorite character is a Me/Mo and while I haven't played her since this update last night, looking over the changes, I don't see how it will change so drastically for her. She uses domination and illusion nearly equally and can hold her own quite well against just about anything that she goes against except the energy drainers (duh). Of course, I play PvE exclusively, so perhaps this has something to do with it.
Does this mean that foes with these skills are also affected? One of the things that really upsets me is that level 11 foes cast spells against me that I had to wait to get---and I was higher level than they were! Mind Wrack and Spirit Shackles together are a deadly combo for a caster-only build (which luckily she isn't quite).
Mesmer primaries already seemed rather sparse to me PvE......does this mean there will be even fewer? It is difficult to get an intelligent team together as it is, one who will work together without the other classes thinking that mesmers are even more throw-away. (Which makes no sense to me. Mesmer primaries --at least mine--are very strong builds if done right.)
Now I'm even more upset that I cut my old smiting monk/necro I was building (to make room for another build). He was turning out quite well and with the updates to necro, he'd have been even better. Smiting took a hit, of course, but.........

How so? With the damage increases and the cooldown/adrenaline req
decreases it looks like a boost more than a shaft.

You know, I only played about an hour after the changes, and it's too soon for me to tell. I'm sure it will take a bit of getting used to (my screen seemed awfully crowded with all those bars and skill icons).
I'm reserving judgement till I've walked a bit more in my character's boots.

Farmers need to exist, both to make money for themselves,
and to keep bringing items/materials into circulation.

...you've never done economy work, have you?
Those high prices are a direct result of more money in the system then intended. Inflation is a direct result of farming. That is why farmers AREN'T good for the system. If there wasn't so much farming, there would be less gold. If there was less gold, items would cost less.
Therefore, farming = no good, unless taken in small doses

Well, so much for illusion magic. What I don't get is why. Why on earth nerf illusion mesmers? Wasn't one punch in the stomach enough?
Great, now Anet is basicly forcing me to go babysit casters.

Cleave – Increased damage to 10..30.
-Eviscerate is still better.
Endure Pain – Increased duration to 7..18 seconds.
-Because warriors are always getting pounded by the opposing team
Belly Smash – Decreased swing time to 1 second.
-Good
Earth Shaker – Lowered adrenaline to 8 strikes.
-Good
Dolyak Signet – Increased armor to 10..40.
-See Endure Pain Comment
Shield Bash – Decreased recharge to 20 seconds.
-Good
Warrior's Endurance – Increased Energy maximum to 5..25.
-Good
Riposte – Increased damage to 15..60.
-Good
Deadly Riposte – Increased damage to 5..50.
-Good
Defy Pain – Increased duration to 12 seconds.
-See Endure Pain comment.
Skull Crack – Lowered adrenaline to 9 strikes.
-WHO in their right mind would use this elite over normal skills like Disrupting Chop?
Fear Me – Decreased area of effect to all nearby foes.
-I don't understand why they would do this..but meh.
But I really wanted to see Warriors Cunning get a buff.

You missed my point. People are going to charge batshit amounts
for items regardless. Farming just gives people a way to make the
money they need for the items they want.

For many people final target is fissure armor, and its price hasnt change and it still costs lots = economy doesnt affect it. And only a mad would wait year until he will collect required money without farming.

just to turn your argument around:
fissure armorprice is just stabe becaue people farm untill they have it, than the stop farming forever and start enjoying the game!
hillarous how many players here demonstrate to delete their character just becaue one , maybe 2, of its skills got slighly changed.

Or maybe they want to use all three. You can make a pretty effective interrupting sword ranger build
Daze, in case you don't know, is pretty damn powerful. Then again, knowing you, you probably never landed a concussion shot

More like "hey I'm getting a crapload of degen, grenth's balance, and there is an EoE nearby." It's a defence skill, not something used for offence. It keeps you alive just a bit longer for the monks to notice. But we all know that we must rely EVERYTHING and our well-being all on the monk, right?
Ever tried it against an EoE build? Funny how you remain standing with 200 more health then that dying ranger

Eviscerate deals nice damage and gives deep wound. However, cleave is spammable, low ald, and deals more damage (no deep wound) in the end. It's a matter of choice in the end.

yeah, but it is the farmers charging ungodly amounts... If there were no farmers the drop distribution would settle back down to how it is supposed to be.
